Andrea: Today is the puppies’ first day outside. They’re five weeks old today. So, now we’re working on going potty outside, but also just enrichment and new experiences. The grass and the leaves are new textures and there’s lots of new smells out here. This is part of our program to make them more well-rounded during this critical time.

This is Copper over here. He’s spoken for and… Well, he’s learning how to go potty outside. That’s good. Good job. There’s Quincy. Hi, baby. Oh, somebody found a stick. We don’t want to chew on that. Here’s little Abby. Hi, baby. Look over here. This is Sully, he’s a little more adventurous. Checking out over by the woods. Oh, there’s Hazel going potty. Good girl. Good girl, Hazel. Good job. Here’s Matilda right here. She’s the light purple collar. She did really good. She pottied when she first came out, took to it right away. They’re doing really well for their first time outside today. This is a dark green collar. Hi, you’re not sure what’s going on. Huh, buddy?

It’s a little chilly today. It’s December in Ohio. So, we won’t spend too much time. We’ll spend about 10 to 15 minutes waiting for everyone. Copper, you leave your sister alone. We’ll spend about 10 to 15 minutes and make sure everyone goes potty, number two and also they have a little bit of time to run around and play and explore new things and then we’ll go back inside.

Hazel, hi. Hi, Hazel. Hazel is a puppy we’re holding back for our breeding program. So, she’s available to a guardian home and you can find that information and apply on our website for that. And I don’t know if I mentioned it, but these are the Cava doodles. They’re a mix of Labrador retriever, Cavalier King Charles spaniel, and poodle.

Sorry, the video quality is not great. I’m trying to catch everyone, so it’s a little shaky. Copper found a leaf. He’s going to bring that back inside, aren’t ya? Is that your leaf? Oh, nope. Dropped it. There’s Abby, she’s got a leaf too. She’s our little tiny one. Starting to get a little more adventurous, wandering further and further out. That’s good. We want them to not be afraid to explore new areas, be comfortable in all sorts of new situations. And this may seem like not a big deal, but it is. They’re getting lots of new smells and new textures and it’s a new temperature out here and there’s new noises.

A little bit ago there was a trash collection truck making a lot of noise and it didn’t phase them at all, which is good. So, we’re going to… I think everyone has done their business. They’re getting a little cold. So, we’re going to wrap this up and go back inside.
